Webster Technique

Webster technique is an adjustment protocol specifically for pregnant patients. According to the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) “The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation / SI joint dysfunction. In doing so, neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is facilitated.” Dr. Purcell is Webster Technique certified.

Another way to say it is that the Webster Technique releases any restrictions in the pelvis and helps to balance all the joints, muscles and nerves in the area. When your body is working at its best you are more likely to experience all of the benefits above. At times, women will seek out the Webster Technique when their baby is breech. While the Webster Technique is not intended to assist in optimal fetal positioning, babies tend to have an easier time getting themselves into position when the mom is properly aligned.

What Saratoga Chiropractic moms are saying…

“Dr. Purcell, I wanted to thank you again for yesterday. I had the best night of sleep I’ve had in months and my pain is significantly better today as I move around with the baby. You made me so comfortable yesterday and our session was amazing. Had to tell you how much I appreciate it! (It feels like magic almost?).”

"Adjustments helped relieve so much of the lower back pressure I was experiencing, especially in the third trimester!"

"This was my first birth and I couldn't believe how smoothly it went. Most of my labor was during the night while I was sleeping, so basically I woke up and an hour later started pushing. The 45 min pushing flew by and my baby came out easily with a beautifully round head. Since it's the only birth I've had, I can't say how much seeing the chiropractor during pregnancy impact it, but based on how much my adjustments eased my pain during pregnancy, I do believe they also had a hand in an easy labor and delivery. I recommend prenatal and postpartum chiropractor visits to help keep the body aligned as it should be."

“I really do believe that receiving chiropracitc care during my pregnancy helped tremendously with the ease of the pregnancy and quick recovery from giving birth!”

Baby #1 "Throughout this pregnancy regular chiropractic adjustments helped me to feel best, all the way up to 40 weeks. Any time the usual aches and pains of pregnancy would begin to creep in, adjustments kept them at bay. With this pregnancy I also experienced some pretty painful SPD pains, which were relieved through adjustments as well."

“Baby #2 was first breech and in the end, posterior. Like during my first pregnancy, regular adjustments kept pregnancy aches and pains at bay, and I believe, helped to spin my breech baby. She went from breech to posterior, and in the end came out head down."
